Property and Casualty Claims

JLT Specialty USA’s Property and Casualty Claims Practice helps clients develop best in class claims management practices – resulting in program efficiencies, a more engaged workforce, better insurance program design, and more effective claims resolution.

Our Casualty Claims specialists average more than 20 years of experience working in a variety of specialized industries – including JLT Specialty industries of Aerospace, Construction, Energy, Entertainment & Hospitality, Private Equity, and Real Estate.  We advocate for our clients across Workers’ Compensation, Auto, and General Liability claims.

  • We reduce costs by:
    • Improving key performance measures such as claims closure rates, claim reporting lag time, litigation rates, and lost time ratios
    • Creating actions plans that improve claims handling processes
    • Improving TPA relationships and performance
    • Communicating the main causes of loss with JLT’s Casualty Loss Control professionals – to drive down claim frequency

We leverage leading analytics tools to provide directional advice with respect to TPA optimization, claims closure, return-to-work and other cost containment programs, operational assessments, and comprehensive claims reviews.

Our Property Claims specialists focus on both advocacy and forensics. Our Property claims advocacy platform includes:

  • Coordination of adjustment activities
  • Claims action plans and triage
  • SOV analysis
  • Claims reviews

In addition to supporting our brokers with coverage analysis, the development of manuscript policies, and designating appropriate claim vendors, we also have experience in delivering Property claims consulting to support claims quantification and resolution, facilitate claims scenario workshops, and analysis historical data to support risk control and business continuity initiatives.

Our Forensics team ensures an accurate understanding of property and business interruption exposures, pre-event response planning, and post-event claim preparation – and is a part of an industry-leading global platform that can support claims preparation and response needs worldwide.  Recently, our forensics capabilities supported clients in responding to claims that emanated from the 2017 natural disasters that have struck the continental United States, the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, and Mexico.
